Non-dealing desk (NDD) broker

Non-dealing desk broker

What is an NDD broker?

A non-dealing desk (NDD) broker will match a client's order with a counter-party and will not take the other side of their client’s trade.

NDD brokers are the opposite of dealing desk brokers and will often also be a type of straight-through processing (STP) broker.

If a client opens up a buy order, then a third party sells to the client and the non-dealing desk broker has to match them up. If the client sells, then they sell to a third party to which they have been matched by the non-dealing desk broker.

Non-dealing desk brokers make money by adding a markup to the bid and ask prices they provide to their clients.
